Swigart V Parcel Pending
Parcel Pending, INC, is a company that offers parcel management systems, such as electronic package lockers that can securely store packages in public spaces until someone is ready to pick them up. In phone conversations with customers, however, they have been alleged to be illegally recording calls without first disclosing that fact to consumers, a clear violation of the California Invasion of Privacy act. Kazerouni Law Group, along with our sister firm Hyde & Swigart, won a $400,000 class action settlement against the company, making funds immediately available to the over 2,000 California plaintiffs that were recorded without their knowledge. Californians have a right to know when their private communications are being recorded, and this judgement should serve as a warning to any other companies that violate the privacy of Californians.
